Hesperidarium, the Citrus Garden, is a nice trip outside the centre with the family to search for a destination that allows us to spend a few hours far from the chaotic rhythm of the city. It was inaugurated recently at the Oscar Tintori vivarium of Pescia, and offers without a shadow of a doubt this possibility. This is a collection on the international level, unique in its genre since it collects over 200 varieties of citruses from every corner of the globe (life Cultiva from the 16th century Medicean collections), articulated among alleyways, plant tunnels, fountains, and large figures inspired by the tale of Pinocchio. The most famous puppet park in the world is found only 2 km away, and represents an excellent occasion to join a visit to the two structures that will certainly impress visitors. The botanical park will surprise visitors with its 2,000 square metres of exposition area, making up a particularly inviting occasion not just for botany lovers, but also for those who are moved by simple curiosity towards this type of plant, some of which are definitely unusual. A visit to the garden is made even more interesting by the presence of audio guides at your disposition, that offer the possibility to get information on the origin and on the main characteristics of the plants present. To the uniqueness of the plants present, we can also add the contents that derive from the collaboration with the Slow Food Foundation for the Protection of Biodiversity, which makes the Hesperidarium a new reference point for the foundation and for the projects supported by it. The Tuscan business is posed as a place in which, next to a concrete example of biodiversity and its advancement, thanks to the first “Slow Food Corner” on the national level, which will be opened internally to the garden, where it will be possible to buy non-perishable products coming from the protection supported by the foundation.
